Rudy Gerson is a Cuban-Jewish-American committed to documentary storytelling — as a director, writer, and teaching-artist.

Based in New York City, Rudy is pursuing a directing and performing career, while working on a book about his recent journey to Cuba, a trip sponsored by Cuba One to trace his grandmother's Cuban-Jewish roots.

He performs with Speak About It, a consent-education theatre group and is a company member of Ithaca-based Civic Ensemble. His latest project — The Darfur Compromised — had its New York City premiere at the historic Cherry Lane Theatre before he traveled with the playwright Trevor Stankiewicz to Ethiopia for a residency at Addis Ababa University in the spring of 2016.
